Use this checklist to help guide you through the tasks that need to be dealt with when a loved one passes away, at a time when it is most difficult to deal with such matters. The list includes the period from the hours immediately following the death to a date six months afterwards and covers matters from securing the deceased's property upon their death to filing the final income tax return for the deceased.
