Use this template to prepare a Audio Development Agreement for use in the United States, between a composer and the developer of a video / computer game, under which the composer agrees to score a soundtrack for a game that the developer is creating, on a work for hire basis. Key provisions:

• The contract price is to be paid in several installments, as certain development milestones are met.
  
• The developer retains full ownership of all music used in the game.
  
• The composer will be entitled to 50% of the royalty for music which is used for any purpose outside of the game, such as on a music album or in TV broadcasts, etc.
